Endocrinology Program Description

The goal of this initiative is to improve access to care for patients with complex diabetes and other endocrine conditions in rural and underserved communities throughout Louisiana. The focus of the teleECHO program is to build and strengthen capacity of best practice care among primary care and other providers supporting patients with endocrine disorders. Issues discussed through didactics and case-based presentations include complex diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, hypogonadism, polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperlipidemia, metabolic bone disorders, and transgender health. We have a robust hub team with expertise in various fields, endocrinology, psychiatry, certificated diabetes educators, PharmD clinicians, and social workers.
